Status: Draft for community feedback. Implementation starts soon. Push back on the rules now — once we ship code, the parameters get sticky.
This proposal applies to decision markets on idea coins as a concept. Predict will be the first implementation venue and where this design goes live first.
TL;DR
- Today, only Spark can open decision markets on idea coins. That bottleneck blocks the whole concept from scaling.
- We're opening proposal creation to anyone, with two anti-spam gates: a proposer must hold 50k of $PREDICT during at least 3 days, so the proposer can't just buy tokens, create proposal and sell them, he need to hold them during 3 days.
- Markets run 72h (24h warm-up, then 48h TWAP to decide). One active market at a time per idea coin — first proposal to hit 1% takes the slot. Spark moves from sole authority to a regular participant.
- We're shipping this for v1 on Predict.
1. The principle
Every idea coin should have a market that lets its community price decisions, not just price the token. That's the principle decision markets on idea coins are built on.
For that principle to hold, the layer that creates those markets has to belong to the holders — not to Spark. As long as we're the only ones who can open a decision market on an idea coin, we sit between every community and every decision they want to coordinate around. That's a single point of failure, and it caps how big this layer can get.
This is the first move toward fixing the bottleneck. The design here is meant for the concept as a whole; Predict is where it goes live first.
2. Where we stand today
- April hackathon: wrapped with three winners shipping the first iteration of the layer — Matt Nomu (open-source PM-AMM SDK), Cuddly (PM on top of OmniPair GAM), Ewan (liquidity bootstrap vault). Predict is the live deployment.
- The bottleneck: decision market creation. Anyone can trade in an existing market, but only Spark can open one. That's the gate we're removing.
3. Why decentralize creation first
Three reasons:
